Chopta - Sattal

Board an overnight train from Delhi to Haridwar (Detail is below). It departs from Delhi by 23:45 pm and arrives early morning by 04:00 AM,

DAY 1

Our guide will meet you at Haridwar Railway Station, from here approx 8hrs road journey to Snow View Hotel. We will have Breakfast & Lunch en-route also we look for some birds including Crested Kingfisher, Wallcreeper & Owl Afternoon Birding and overnight in Snow View Hotel.

Great Barbet,  Black-throated, Black-lored, and Green-backed Tits, Brown-fronted woodpeckers, Grey-treepie, Yellow-billed Blue Magpie, Bulbuls, Thrushes, Treecreeper, Striated, White-throated, Rufous-chinned and White-throated Laughingthrushes, many more.

DAY 2

Wake up early morning drive to Chopta and will walk to Tunganath temple, it’s a moderate trek which is very productive one can see Himalayan Monals, Bunting, Accenture, Tits, Laughingthrushes, Winter Wren, Warblers, Golden and Orange Flanked Bush robin, Vulture, and Snow Partridge back for lunch afternoon will be trying for Woodpeckers, Yuhina, etc.

DAY 3

Wake up early morning drive towards Monal point is possible to see monal and Koklass pheasant, we will continue till launch. This place is so productive one can see lots of birds like 8 types of tits woodpeckers, laughing thrush and thrushes, Accenter, Vulture, Lammergeier, Golden Eagle, after launch drive to mukku farm good to see Flowerpecker , Owlet, Rosefinches, Redstart, Mistle Thrush. Late evening we leave for Mandal.

DAY 4

Start early drive to Research center which real productive. Here we can see finches, Sunbirds, Red-fronted Serin, Scaly-bellied woodpecker, Wren-babbler.

After breakfast will go to stream spend till launch. This place is good for Spotted and Little Forktail, Brown Dipper, Water Redstarts, Yellow-bellied fantail, Tesia, Small Niltava.

After lunch, we again visit to Research Center and further for more birds.

DAY 5

Today morning we will visit Bhotia gaon, till breakfast we do birding here. Here we can see the White-browed Piculetm finches, Sunbirds, Russet Sparrow, Golden Bush Robin, Slaty-headed Parakeet, Long-tailed Minivet, Warbler.

After breakfast, we leave for Sattal, our next prime location is 10hrs from Mandal, we take our lunch en-route.

DAY 6

Woke up, after freshen-up will spend time till breakfast in hotel hide. Here you can see and photograph as many as 30 birds, like Great and Blue-throated Barbet , Kalij Pheasant, Black Francolin, Red-billed Lieothrix, Blue-winged Minla, Nuthatch, Black-lored, Green-backed and Great Tits, Greater and Lesser Yellownape, Grey-headed and Brown-fronted woodpeckers, Grey-treepie, Red-billed Blue Magpie, Bulbuls, Flycatchers, Thrushes, Treecreeper, Striated, White-throated, Rufous-chinned, and White-throated Laughingthrushes, many more.

After breakfast, we visit Chanfi, goof place for Crested Kingfisher, Slaty-backed and Spotted Forktail, Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, Yellow-bellied Fantail, grey-headed canary Flycatcher, warblers.

In the Afternoon, after lunch, we visit Shyamkhet for Niltava , Treecreeper, black-chinned babbler, Rosefinches.

Overnight in Birders Den Resort.

DAY 7

Today is our last day. In the morning we will visit to Ashram hide, good place to see Common Green Magpie, White-crested Laughingthrush, Fantail Rockt Thrush.

Return to hotel for breakfast, after breakfast will visit the Sattal forest and its a famous open studio. Here you can see Tesia, Ashy Bulbul, Roufous-bellied Fantail, Brown Bullfinch, Black-throated Sunbird, Rusty-cheeked scimitar babbler and many.

After lunch we will do birding in hotel hide till evening.

Our trips end at Kathgodam station with lots of memories and tons of GB photos.
